[INSTRUMENTAL]

Well this bit is actually an instrumental that we've been using to open up shows and obviously this album but since I'm sure someone is bound to read this and ask, I'll tell a few stories about this track.

This song originates from a musical doodle I did for a project called Civic Playboy; a thing I did in between "SO HELP ME GOD" and "PINK HOUSE" when I thought The Pom Pom Girls would either go on hiatus or wouldn't be recording new stuff ever, that also doubled as my take on the sounds of the band SUICIDE (RIP Alan Vega.) There were lyrics I had written for the song that had two wildly different verses that also relate to the song title; one about a guy who travels up north to Maine to meet an ex girlfriend in a revenge-fueled killing spree that would've had lyrics that alluded to "red up in the great white north" or whatever, and another about racism being very much alive and well up in the northern parts of our country, but that their racism is a lot more "polite" or whatever, so it would've been a radical shift in direction for the verses, but of course the words have always had a hard time coming together for little Civic Playboy jams so I decided to start working it as an instrumental. It's a fun little song to jam to because when we played it the first few times, it was as a warmup song to let people know we were starting our set. The best memories actually come from the first two times we played it; first on October 12th in our friend, Marty's, basement where we riffed on that tune for what felt like forever, and the second time on October 26th when we started playing it immediately after Phantom Sleeze had finished their set at our album release party. People didn't realize we were all set and ready to play when that happened so to hear people scrambling up the stairs of Fahrenheit 451 when we started playing it was kinda funny. The shocking part was turning around and seeing how many people had come to see us that time.

So here it is now, in all its glory. Presented with full context. If y'all have more questions about this song, or any song off this album in particular then feel free to shoot us a message or something. We don't bite, I promise (unless that's what you're into.)
